Mercedes-Benz Siap Hadirkan S-Class Baru

Mercedes-Benz Indonesia tidak puas dengan meluncurkan E-Class saja ke pasar otomotif tanah air sebulan yang lalu. Mercy akan memasukan varian S-Class agar lebih menyemarakkan pasar sedan premium di Indonesia.
Mercedes Benz Indonesia akan mendatangkan 3 varian S-Class yakni S300, S350 dan S500 dengan tampilan yang lebih artistik dan menunjang penampilan baru dari S-Class.
"Setelah E-Class, kita juga akan meluncurkan S-Class terbaru," kata Presiden Direktur Mercedes-Benz Indonesia Rudi Borgenheimer beberapa waktu lalu.
S-Class diluncurkan untuk memuaskan permintaan konsumen di tanah air, yang selama ini menunggu kehadiran varian terbaru S-Class.
Rudi menegaskan, peluncuran S-Class akan lebih dulu dari Mercedes-Benz GL-Class yang rencananya pada Oktober nanti. S-Class juga akan diluncurkan pada Oktober 2009 atau sebulan setelah Lebaran.
Dan untuk masalah harga, Rudi menjelaskan akan terjadi peningkatan sedikit pada New S-Class. Dari sisi harga, hanya naik sekitar 2 sampai 4 persen lebih mahal dari S-Class terdahulu.

The New E-Class is Coming

Generasi ke-9 dari sejarah panjang E-Class Saloon ini tampil dengan perubahan yang cukup signifikan sejak dari tampilan depan, samping, sampai belakang. Perbedaan paling menyolok atara lain terlihat pada headlamp bagian depan. Model baru ini lampu utama depan berbentuk kotak dan belah ketupat, berbeda dengan varian terdahulunya yang masih oval.
E-Class Saloon ini terdiri dari varian E 300 Elegance dan E 300 Advantgarde dengan fitur transmisi 7G-TRONIC dan Direct Select dan Gearshift Steering Wheel, Panoramic Sliding Sunroof, Intelligent Light system, Adaptive high-Beam, Bluetooth Interface, dan Parking Guidance.
Tak hanya itu, kali ini Mercedes-Benz juga membawa varian E-Class Coupe (W207). Model ini meneruskan legenda E-Class dua pintu yang pernah populer di era 90-an dengan 300 CE dan 300 CE-24. Nah, kali ini mercedes-Benz langsung memasukkan tiga tipe sekaligus yaitu E 250 CGI Coupe Advantgarde, E 350 Coupe Elegance, dan E 350 Coupe Advantgarde AMG.
Kendaraan ini dilengkapi dengan 7G-TRONIC (E 350), Parkingtronic dan Parking Guidance, PRE-SAFE positioning functuion, Advance Agility package, Panoramic Sliding Roof, Audio 20 termsuk CDC dengan Bluetooth Interface dan koneksi ke external device (Ipod, USB, AUX-in) dengan Harman Kardon Loggic 7 - sound system ( E 250 CGI Coupe ) , Thermotronic Climate Control (E 350), Intelligent Light System dan Keyless Go (E 350).

Mercedes-AMG GmbH Notes Their Best Record Sales In 2008
Mercedes-AMG GmbH is celebrating the most successful year in its company history. AMG, the performance brand within Mercedes-Benz Cars, succeeded in increasing unit sales worldwide by 19 percent, selling 24,200 vehicles (previous year 20,300) and bucking the market trend in extremely difficult conditions. As in previous years, the USA was the strongest market for AMG with a share of 38 per cent of total sales. Germany came in second place (13 per cent), followed by Japan (8 per cent). The German market has developed very positively with a clear increase of 34 per cent compared with the previous year. The greatest growth markets of 2008 include amongst others China and Brazil with rates of increase of 260 per cent and 565 per cent respectively. With these figures AMG confirms its leading position amongst high-performance vehicle brands and at the same time further expands its market share in the high-performance segment.
The C 63 AMG made a considerable contribution to the success of 2008 with 8100 vehicles delivered. The C 63 AMG, available as a saloon and as an estate, is thereby the most successful AMG automobile of all time. The new SL 63 AMG also developed positively, with 3,050 enthusiastic purchasers in 2008.
In addition, a further chapter of the Black Series success story was relayed to the world with the SL 65 AMG Black Series, limited to 350 units – and enchanted the media and demanding AMG customers alike.
Successful: AMG sports package and AMG Driving Academy
The AMG sports package also made a positive contribution to the year`s success. The striking sporty equipment packages are available for numerous Mercedes lines and were sought after by more customers than ever in 2008; the increase over 2007 amounted to 73 per cent.
The AMG Driving Academy, founded in 2007, registered twice as many applications as in 2007. The strength of demand for high-class racing circuit training and events has led AMG to undertake a considerable expansion of the AMG Driving Academy options for 2009.
Individual customer attention and first class customer care also played a crucial role in AMG`s continually increasing success. Hence AMG is to establish 175 new AMG Performance Centers worldwide by the end of next year: its engagement in intensifying customer relations now covers 15 countries in total.
Environmentally compatible vehicle development initiatives
In addition to its passion for high-performance sports vehicles, Mercedes-AMG GmbH is also committed to social responsibility and is intensifying its engagement in the development of environmentally compatible vehicles. AMG is already "Best in Class" amongst its performance car subsidiary and sporting brand competitors in the field of consumption. All AMG vehicles will surpass the EU-5 standards which come into force from 2009 and also the EU-6 standards which will apply from 2014. To reduce consumption, AMG is shortly to introduce efficiency-increasing engine-generator management as well as regulated oil and water pumps. From 2010 AMG will equip its vehicles with direct petrol injection and with start-stop function. Through constantly increasing efficiency, AMG will from 2012 achieve a reduction in consumption of 30 per cent in comparison to present levels.
AMG was founded in 1967 by Hans Werner Aufrecht and Erhard Melcher and is considered to be a pioneer in the field of motor sport and refinement. The cooperation contract agreed with Daimler-Benz AG in 1990 was followed in 1999 by gradual integration into the then DaimlerChrysler AG. On 1 January 2005 DaimlerChrysler AG took 100 per cent of the shares. Today Mercedes-AMG GmbH is a vehicle manufacturer and AMG is the performance brand within Mercedes-Benz Cars. The subsidiary firm of Daimler AG is uniquely specialised in the field of high-performance vehicles and, with its sporty saloons, coupés, cabriolets, roadsters, SUVs and specially produced one-off vehicles, offers a product portfolio which leaves no customer wish unfulfilled. 2008 IAA: Mercedes-Benz Vito Blue EFFICIENCY Study
One of Merc’s highlights at the 2008 International Commercial Vehicle Show in Hanover, is the Vito BlueEFFICIENCY study vehicle which gives us a glimpse of what the German automaker is preparing for its next generation vans. As with the company’s BlueEFFICIENCY passenger vehicles, the diesel-powered Vito has received a package of measures in order to achieve lower consumption and emission figures. These measures include a new six-speed manual transmission with a wide ratio range, low rolling-resistance tires, power-saving LED headlamps and tail lights and the ECO start/stop function, which switches the engine off automatically as soon as the vehicle is at a standstill.
Moreover, the Vito BlueEFFICIENCY features an extensive aerodynamics package that helps reduce drag. The package includes underfloor paneling, side and floor mounted ventilators that dissipate the heat given off by the engine and differential, and three louvres on the radiator grille that open or close as a function of the vehicle speed and coolant temperature.
Further components of the aerodynamics package include windscreen wipers that remain in a concealed position when at rest as well as a roof with a smooth plastic surface, recessed roof carrier bars, a rear spoiler lip and a camera system that replaces the conventional exterior mirrors.
According to Mercedes-Benz, overall, the fuel-efficiency measures implemented for the Vito BlueEFFICIENCY show vehicle result to a saving of up to 1.5 liters/100 km and a reduction in CO2 emissions of up to 40 grams/km compared to a standard Vito.
The Carlsson Aigner CK55 RS Mercedes GL500

Welcome back ladies and gentlemen; I hope you all had a fantastic weekend. We didnt quite find the time you bring this article last week, but we felt this article was worth a mention even late, because lets be honest: who doesnt love reading about a 228,500 euro two-tone GL-Class? I know I do, so here for your viewing pleasure is the Carlsson Aigner CK55 RS Rascasse, a limited edition Mercedes GL500 developed by Mercedes tuning firm Carlsson and the luxury leather brand Etienne Aigner AG.
According to Carlsson, "the star qualities of this car are obvious at a glance." First and foremost, theres the paintwork, consisting of several coats of hand-rubbed wine-red metallic paint applied below the window line accented by black on the upper half of the model. Furthermore, theres a complete Carlsson body kit present, ranging from wider wheel arches, new side skirts and a new front and rear apron all the up to a new bonnet with integrated power domes. And the grille – lets not forget that big mesh, Chevy-looking grille.
So what else does 228,500 euros get you? More power, courtesy of Carlssons engine conversion system for Mercedes 5,461cc, 48-valve, DOHC V8. As a result, the Carlsson Aigner CK55 RS Rascasse boasts a total output of 456 hp (335 kW) with 640Nm of torque, enough to propel the model from 0-62 mph in 5.9 seconds (compared to 6.5 seconds for a traditional GL500).
And last but not least, being a collaboration between Carlsson and a luxury leather brand, theres bound to be a fantastically ostentatious interior, and judging by its description, it sounds like the Aigner CK55 RS Rascasse will fail to disappoint. According to Carlsson, the SUV uses only the finest hides and Alcantara to cover the seats, dashtop, door panels and center console, all of which feature the dark shade of red found on the models exterior. Ensuring the optimum in drinking while backseat driving, an integrated fridge has been added, while the removal of three of the models rear seats (leaving two individual passenger seats) ensures you ll have plenty of space to get your swerve on.
If youre interested, as already noted, flamboyance isnt cheap, as the Carlsson Aigner CK55 RS Rascasse will set you back EUR 228,000 and change. Only 20 are set for production, however, so if you want one, you better act quick.
