DISTRONIC proximity control At the push of a button the DISTRONIC proximity-controlled cruise control keeps the vehicle at the desired distance from the vehicle in front. Radar sensors permanently measure the distance and regulate the speed. The cruise control function also allows the driver to set a desired speed which is automatically maintained.
Anti-theft alarm system (ATA) with tow-away protection The anti-theft alarm system (ATA) protects the vehicle from theft and break-ins as soon as the vehicle is locked via the remote. The system triggers an alarm when an unauthorised person opens the vehicle doors, the boot lid or the bonnet. The alarm also sounds if the ignition lock is shorted or removed or the foot brake is applied. The tow-away protection function responds to a change in the position of the vehicle and can be deactivated – for example, if the car must be loaded onto another vehicle or towed.
PARKTRONIC parking aid The electronic parking aid PARKTRONIC monitors the front and rear of the vehicle during manoeuvring and warns the driver if there is a risk of collision. If the system identifies an obstruction, it provides a visual signal. As soon as the distance is less than approx. 35 cm, a short warning sound is emitted. When the vehicle gets even closer (less than approx. 25 cm away) a continuous signal is heard. PARKTRONIC uses this procedure to make parking safe, even with limited space available.
Automatic child seat recognition (ACSR) The automatic child seat recognition protects young children against injuries which could result from deployment of the front-passenger airbag. The system recognises if a child seat with a transponder from the Mercedes-Benz accessories programme is mounted on the front-passenger seat and automatically deactivates the airbag. As soon as the seat is removed, the technology on the airbag is reactivated.

Tyre pressure monitoring system The tyre pressure monitoring system provides a warning if the tyres have lost a dangerous amount of air. The wheel electronics of the four wheels continually transmit the tyre pressure and temperature data to the vehicle’s control unit. If the system identifies a variance then it warns the driver via a yellow or red signal in the instrument cluster.

KEYLESS-GO drive authorisation system KEYLESS-GO is an electronic drive authorisation system which allows the driver to unlock or start the vehicle without having to use a key. The driver need only carry the KEYLESS-GO transponder and pull the door handle. The start/stop button starts the car.

THERMOTRONIC luxury automatic climate control[1] The luxury automatic climate control THERMOTRONIC provides individual temperatures and a pleasant climate in up to four zones in the vehicle interior. The system allows for targeted air ducting in the front seats and through the B-pillar in the rear where the passengers can access a separate control panel. In addition a combination or active charcoal filter catches dust and pollutants. To ensure an optimum climate, sensors permanently monitor the intensity of sunlight and the moisture of the fresh air drawn in. The values measured are continuously incorporated in the control system.

Heated rear seats The heated seats in the rear provide pleasant warmth in the second row of seats. Each rear seat has a switch which can activate three levels of heating in the seat cushions and backrest. If "fast heating" is selected, the system switches to "normal" after approx. five minutes. If the battery capacity is low the seat heating is automatically switched off.
Front climatised seats, ventilated and heated The climatised seats improve ride comfort and reduce transpiration with a pleasant air flow and the selectable seat heating. Integrated in the seat upholstery are fans which uniformly distribute a flow of air in three intensity levels under the leather cover of the backrest and cushions. The air flows through the fine perforation and quickly cools down the surface of the seats to a pleasant temperature – even if the vehicle has been heated by an intense amount of sunlight for a longer period of time. On cold days you can turn on the three-level adjustable seat heating, which guarantees together with the air flow that wet clothes dry faster.
Ski bag
Auxiliary heater with remote control The auxiliary heater provides pleasant temperatures and eliminates ice on windows even before the drive begins – even on frosty days. The heater has an output of five kilowatts and functions independently of the engine. It can be activated with a switch in the vehicle, using remote control from a distance of up to 300 metres or via a timer function.
